Two Inmates Captured After New Mexico Escape

FORT SUMNER, N.M. (AP) _ Two inmates who escaped from a New Mexico jail were recaptured in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Officials say 23-year-old Barry Wright of Higgins, Texas, and 19-year-old Cody Jessup of Woodward, Oklahoma, were sharing a cell when they overpowered a detention officer Friday night.

Authorities initially set up roadblocks around the central New Mexico town to capture the escaped inmates.

Both men were initially arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing a vehicle, weapons and other property.
