Howard Barnett Wins State Treasurer Nomination In Battle With Keating Ties

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Howard Barnett wins the battle between two men with connections to former Governor Frank Keating in the race for the Republican nomination for treasurer.

Barnett, the former Keating chief of staff, defeated Keating's twin brother, Daniel, for the GOP nomination.

Barnett had 60 percent of the vote in the battle of the two Tulsans.

Barnett will face incumbent Democrat Scott Meacham, who was appointed to serve out the term of Robert Butkin.
