Okemah Teen Killed, Woman Critically Injured In Crash

OKEMAH, Okla. (AP) -- An Okemah woman remained in critical condition Tuesday after a two-car accident that killed her 14-year-old daughter.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Sherry Smith was southbound on an Okfuskee County road Monday afternoon when she made a left turn in front of an oncoming car.

14-year-old Merika Smith was a passenger in the Smith car and was killed in the crash.

The driver of the second car was treated a leg injury and released.
