An Oklahoma judge has been nominated to serve on the 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.

President Bush nominated James Hardy Payne, a federal district judge in Muskogee. Payne has been a judge on the US District Court for the northern, eastern and western districts of Oklahoma since 2001.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1963 and is a Texas native.
