Bomb scare at the Checotah Post Office

The News on 6 is learning more about an incident in McIntosh County, a bomb scare at the post office in Checotah.

Checotah Police say a man in his late 60's or early 70's walked into the post office, walked out, then opened the trunk of his car, took out a suitcase, left it and drove off.

Checotah Police put schools on lockdown and blocked off an area around the post office while the bomb squad tried to figure out if the suitcase contained explosives. They eventually blew it up and found nothing out of the ordinary inside.

Investigators are looking for the man and his car, a maroon Lincoln Town car with Arkansas plates.
