New charges against a serial attacker. Tulsa Police arrested a man 11 days ago who was accused of running around Tulsa, half-naked exposing himself and grabbing women. Since that arrest, police say they've uncovered a total of 13 victims of the same man, going all the way back to July 30th.
News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright says Brian Lowery is accused of a crime spree that might sound funny at first, wearing nothing but a shirt and shoes, exposing himself and grabbing women. But Tulsa Police detectives say some of the crimes were much more serious than that.
They say he dragged one woman into the woods and tried to rip off her clothes, they say he raped a 15 year old girl asleep on a couch in her home and threw a hotel maid down on the bed and would've raped her, had she not screamed. Tulsa Sex Crimes Detective Rod Russo: "Wasn't just exposing himself. He was doing a variety of crimes and he was escalating, he had escalated and he's like many, he's gonna do what he can get away with."
With the 10 new charges added Friday, Lowery now faces two lewd molestation charges, eight indecent exposure counts, four burglary and three attempted rape counts. One victim was only 14 years old; another was with her mother when it happened. "Half the victims were Hispanic who now see the police department in a new light, because they had a language barrier. We even had a Spanish speaking volunteer go with me to help as I was solving these cases."
Tulsa Police plan to continue looking at other unsolved cases that have the same MO and suspect description, to see if this one-man crime spree is even bigger than the current 13 cases.
Lowery pleaded not guilty at his court arraignment. His next court date is October 27th.
He is still in the Tulsa County jail on a new bond of more than $1.5-million.
