Boone Pickens gives Reagan library $10 million

Updated:
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) _ Texas oil tycoon and Oklahoma native Boone Pickens is donating ten million dollars to the Ronald Reagan library.

The gift covers the remaining costs of the new Air Force One Pavilion at the museum in Simi Valley, California, and allows the foundation to pay off its 32 million dollar construction loan.

The pavilion is to open today with former first lady Nancy Reagan, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush among the guests.

Pickens is a native of Holdenville and is a 1951 graduate of what was then Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University.
