New developments in the case of a bloody mattress found in a Tulsa dumpster last week. It may now be evidence in a murder investigation.
Tulsa Police found the body of California resident Arvelle Givens Saturday night. Officers have been looking for Givens since Thursday when his drivers license and clothes were found at the Pecan Creek apartments along with a blood-soaked mattress.
The police report says the prime suspect Derrick Greggs led them to Givens' body. Greggs was arrested on Friday. The report says Greggs told police he went to the apartment to steal drugs. He also confessed to shooting Givens in the head and dumping his body in a wooded area near the Orchard Park Apartments.
Tulsa Police also believe Greggs shot and injured a woman who was with Givens. Greggs could face charges for first degree murder and shooting with intent to kill.
