Oklahoma City Police identify body as female

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City police Wednesday identified a body found in southwest Oklahoma City as that of a white or Hispanic woman.

Captain Jeff Becker says the woman appears to be 20- to 40-years-old and had been dead for several days.

Becker says the body was found wrapped in a blanket in a drainage ditch by a person who noticed a strong odor coming from the ditch.

He says investigators didn't open the blankets because of high winds, but sent the remains to the medical examiner to identify and determine how the woman died.

Becker said the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
