HARTSHORNE, Okla. (AP) -- Two Pittsburg County teenagers are killed and a third is injured when the car they're riding in runs off a Latimer County road and slams into a tree.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Timothy Telinde of McAlester and 17-year-old Candace Russell of Hartshorne were pronounced dead at the scene of Monday’s crash.

17-year-old Anthony Graham of Haileyville was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he was listed in stable condition Monday night.

The patrol says Telinde was driving eastbound on State Highway 1 east of Hartshorne at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve, ran off the road and slammed into a tree.

All three teenagers were pinned inside the vehicle for 20 minutes after the crash.

OHP reports none of three were wearing seat belts.
