OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ State authorities ordered a Florida telemarketer to pay $230,000 in fines and penalties after failing to respond to a civil petition filed last year.
The state attorney general's office says Hallandale Marketing will also be barred from telemarketing activities in Oklahoma.
The attorney general accused Hallandale of initiating unsolicited telemarketing calls to Oklahomans who had signed up for the state's do-not-call list.
Authorities say the company was not a registered telemarketer in Oklahoma, but made calls anyway in attempt to sell travel and vacation services.
The attorney general's office also accused Hallandale of using an automatic dial device to make calls to Oklahoma consumers.
Under Oklahoma law, all telemarketing calls must be initiated by the person.
