It's an historic day for the Muscogee Creek Nation.

Muscogee Principal Chief A.D. Ellis gave the state-of-the-nation address at the Creek Nation's quarterly meeting of the national council. The auditorium was packed but for the first time the speech was also webcast over the Internet so that voting members all over the world could see their government at work.

The Muscogee council recently appropriated the money and the system was put together in the last 30 days.

George Tiger, Muscogee house speaker: "Today for the first time in the history of our tribe, tribal members from across the world had an opportunity to watch their government in action. Via the webcast, through internet. We have a number of tribal members who live in other parts of the world. We have people who are absentee voters who live in Japan, in Europe. It's an exciting day."

The Muscogee Creek Nation has nearly 60,000 enrolled tribal members who can now watch their government via the Internet.
