FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- An Oklahoma man who was held for 18 months in an Arkansas county jail has won a lawsuit giving him the right to have a prayer feather.
Jailers in Benton County, Arkansas, had objected on security grounds to giving the feather to Billy Joe Wolfe junior of Jay.
But a federal judge says Wolfe has shown the feather is necessary for him to practice his religion.
Wolfe is now serving life in the Arkansas state prison system after pleading guilty to kidnapping and murder charges.
