Chouteau man killed after crashing garbage truck

INOLA, Okla. (AP) -- A garbage truck driver from Chouteau died Tuesday after he swerved to avoid another car and overturned his truck, ejecting him from the vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 64-year-old Jerry Dale Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries after yesterday's crash.

Holmes was driving on US 412 near Inola when he swerved to avoid another car, traveled into the median and overturned the truck. He was ejected about 175 feet through the driver's side window.
