OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An 18-month-old toddler is in critical condition after being hit by a car in northwest Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Police Captain Jeffrey Becker says a woman was pushing a stroller across Meridian Avenue when a northbound vehicle hit the stroller.

Becker says one vehicle stopped to let the woman cross the street, but that she failed to check for oncoming traffic in the other lane.

The child was taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
