Tulsa firefighter cadets got some unique hands on experience Friday.
The department held a highline exercise near Tulsa's pedestrian bridge at 29th and Riverside. It teaches rope and water rescue skills that can actually be used to rescue anyone from one elevated spot to another.
Tulsa Fire Department Dannie Caldwell: "We don't use these types of systems very often, but it gives them a chance to think outside the box, learn about the physics, how these things work, so they can pretty much accomplish any task that's given to them in the field."
Fire officials say they hardly ever have to use this system, but they still have to prepare for the worst.
