PHILADELPHIA (AP) New figures released by the Census Bureau show workers in Tulsa have one of the shortest commutes among big cities in the country, averaging less than 17 minutes.

The Census Bureau's 2003 survey included all 50 states and cities with populations of 250,000 or more. Wichita, Kansas, and Corpus Christi, Texas, joined Tulsa on the list of cities with commutes averaging less than 17 minutes.

Oklahoma City had an average commute time of just under 19 minutes. Workers in New York City had the longest commute of an average of 38 minutes, while Chicago commuters came in second at 33 minutes.

Commuters in Newark, New Jersey, Riverside, California, and Philadelphia rounded out the top five cities.
