The head of the Tulsa's Catholic diocese, Bishop Edward Slattery, is on his way to Rome so that he can attend the pope's funeral.
Pope John Paul II ordained him back in 1994. Bishop Slattery says he is going to show that Tulsa is connected to the universal church and personally, he wants to share the Eucharist will other Catholics from around the world. "I'm going not to celebrate his life, but what he preached, what I hope to do."
Stanley's Funeral Home on East 31st Street in Tulsa has a special registry if you’d like to sign in recognition of the passing of the Pope. They'll send the registry to the Vatican.
