Enhanced 911 for cell phone users in Grady County

Updated:
The first Oklahoma county to offer enhanced 911 service involving cell phones is up and running.

With the help of SBC, the Grady County Sheriff's Office can now pinpoint wireless customers who dial 911 for help.

Other counties will be getting on board with the E-911 system, but state law requires county voters approve a 50 cent monthly addition to their cell phone bill before it can be enacted.
