Federal money to be used to start up several community health centers in Oklahoma

Updated:
Nearly $3-million in federal money is on the way to help start community health centers in several Oklahoma communities.

Clinics, including one in Tulsa, will offer medical and dental services based on a sliding fee for people who are uninsured or underinsured. A recent survey found Oklahoma is one of four states in the greatest need of community health centers. About 20-percent of Oklahomans don't have health insurance.

The clinics should be up and running next year.
