Lawton woman killed in crash after fleeing police

ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) Authorities say a Lawton woman has died after fleeing police during a traffic stop.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Julia Silverhorn was killed Saturday after speeding away from Anadarko police and driving off state Highway 8 about nine miles south of Anadarko.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says police lost track of Silverhorn, but later discovered her vehicle. According to OHP, Silverhorn tried to make a turn at high speed and rolled her 1993 Pontiac coupe five and a half times.

The Cyril Fire Department freed her after she had been pinned for 45 minutes, but Silverhorn was pronounced dead at the scene around 10 PM.
