Another order for new Boeing jet

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Boeing is getting another order for its new 787 ``Dreamliner'' jet.

Northwest Airlines is buying 18 and has an option on 50 more. Northwest will be the first North American carrier to put the mid-size jet into service.

Parts of the wing of the jet are to be built at the Boeing plant in Tulsa where about 500 workers are expected to be hired to perform the work.

Boeing spokesman Peter Conte says the company now has 82 firm orders and 173 commitments for the aircraft. The only other domestic airlines placing orders so far are Continental and a small carrier called Primaris.
