Keep those hungry mosquitos out of your yard

Updated:
Warm weather is here and some neighborhoods are already under attack because it's bug season. Mosquitos in particular can ruin a backyard outing.

News on 6 reporter Rick Wells shows us a new control system that guarantees it can end your pest problems for good.

You can almost hear them licking their chops, legions of hungry mosquitos gearing up for their annual picnic in our backyards. "They are big in Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama." Jeremy Wilson of Mosquito Solutions is telling me about the misting system he's marketing in Tulsa. Apparently a guy in Houston develped it as a way to taking his own yard back. “This is the brains of the system."

It's automatic and works on a timer like those yard sprinkling systems. It is designed for mosquitos, but it gets pretty much everything else too. "Ants, fleas ticks wasps bees mud dobbers, chiggars, if it's an insect in your yard it's gonna kill it." But he says it's safe for people and pets. It sprays on a timed schedule,at this particular house it's early morning and late night, two 1-minute long misting sprays each day. “We use a nickel plated adapter and a stainless steel nozzle." Those are connected to nylon tubing and a big drum of insecticide.

They say it works, in fact they guarantee it. "We'll give you your money back we're that confident in it." Mosquito misting, the newest weapon in the summer time bug arsenal, which includes natural repelents, like rosemary and other herbs and the old standbys with Deet and all those foggers and spray trcuks.

If this high end control catches on summer evening sounds will go from fogging to misting. More information is available about Mosquito Solutions and their backyard misting systems on their web site.
