Seminole gets grant to purchase former Wrangler plant

SEMINOLE, Okla. (AP) -- A $500,000 federal economic development grant has been awarded to Seminole for the purchase of the former Wrangler plant.

The city will pay Wrangler $425,000 for its two existing industrial facilities. The city lost more than 600 jobs in 2003 when Wrangler closed its manufacturing operations.

Seminole hopes to use the buildings to attract businesses that would bring the most new jobs.
