State Racing Commission hires new director

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission hires Constantin -A- Rieger as its executive director during a special meeting Thursday.

He replaces Gordon Hare, who will retire in July.

Rieger will take over in mid-July and will receive a salary of $83,000.

Rieger has been the assistant executive director of the Louisiana State Racing Commission since 1992.

Hare has been at the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission since 1984 and has been its executive director since 1986.
