Former judge sought aid for state inmate

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An attorney general's investigation revealed that a former judge met with the director of the state Department of Corrections last year to seek a transfer for his secretary's son.

Officials say the inmate, Loran Michael Wilson, was moved a day after the meeting between Steve Lile, then a judge on the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, and corrections Director Ron Ward.

Lile resigned on February 28th. Investigators looked into several accusations, including whether Lile improperly intervened in Wilson's criminal cases. The inmate is the son of Lile's former secretary, Dawn Lukasik of Lawton.

Investigators interviewed several corrections officials about Lile's transfer request. The probe was dropped when Lile resigned.

Lile and Lukasik have declined comment.
