He's had several job titles, but the latest one is "inventor". Jenks resident Tobin Peterson now heads to Arizona to showcase his "masterpiece" on the biggest stage for entrepeneurs.
News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca caught up with him and has a sneak peak at Green Country's latest invention. Little Maison Peterson loves to draw. And like any proud papa, her dad Tobin loves to show off her artwork. Dad says he doesn't have an artistic bone in his body, but Maison's creative energy helped him create "My Masterpiece".
It's part picture frame, magnetic surface and dry erase board. Just pull the protective pane off the frame, center your child's latest creative work, slip the cover back on and the masterpiece is ready for everyone to admire. It's so easy, little Maison did it like a pro. Tobin heads to Arizona next month to show 20 million QVC customers his new product. "I'm a little nervous, just like anyone else would be, but excited in many ways, too. This is a start to something that we hope will be a big thing."
Tobin says he could use a big thing in his life right now.He's already been laid off of 5 jobs and says he could use the money. QVC ordered 1,500 units and Tobin helps to sell all of them. Based on the feedback he's getting from some local buyers, he's pretty confident he'll do OK. Now that one year old Murphy looking for space to show off her latest work of art. Tobin is focusing on expanding his latest idea. "I already have one for scrapbooks on the way. So you can put a scrapbook page in there, take it out, instead of someone having it in a binder and someone folding it up and you not being able to see it."
