Child dies in Hughes County crash

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. (AP) _ A 4-year-old boy is dead after the car his mother was driving crashed in Hughes County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Joseph Madden was killed in the collision on a county road near Holdenville about 9:45 Thursday night.

Investigators say the car driven by Kimberly Powell ran off the road and rolled. Troopers say the boy was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.

Troopers say Powell and four other children ranging from 6- to 17-years-old suffered minor injuries.
