An Oklahoma beauty queen is making sure kids have something to comfort them when facing a scary situation. Stephanie Maclin is National American Miss Oklahoma.
She donated about 200 stuffed animals to the Child Abuse Network on Wednesday. Stephanie says she got the donations from other pageant contestants, and then after she won the title she adopted the Child Abuse Network as her charity.
The organization says Stephanie's work is very important. Nancy Hatfield with the Child Abuse Network: "Stephanie brings awareness to this issue that the abuse and neglect, bullying, that's happening in our community. And to raise the conscious level of other people to understand that it is going on and we need to be conscious of it and we need to fight it."
Since last year, Miss Maclin has donated more than 500 stuffed animals to the Child Abuse Network.
