Tulsa Police busy with overnight chases

A couple of short Tulsa Police chases early Friday end with two arrests.

The first started about 11:30 PM Thursday when a Tulsa Police officer tried to pull over a driver, but instead of stopping, the driver sped off. When he tried to make a U-turn, he hit the median and came to a stop near 36th Street North and Lewis.

The driver was arrested for DUI.

Shortly after midnight, another driver was going north on Southwest Boulevard when he ran off the road. He hit a telephone pole and ended up on some railroad tracks.

He decided to run off on foot, leading Tulsa Police on a short chase. Officers caught up with the man and he was taken into custody.

Charges are pending in both incidents.
