Lehigh man struck, killed while crossing road

LEHIGH, Okla. (AP) _ A 20 year old Lehigh man is killed after being hit by a car while trying to cross U-S 75 in Coal County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Lucas Childress was trying to cross the road about 11pm last night in Lehigh when he was hit by a 2005 Ford van driven by Michael Wong of New York.

The OHP reported Childress was thrown about 270 feet from the point of impact. The patrol also reported an odor of alcohol on Childress, who was pronounced dead at a Coalgate hospital.

Wong and his passenger weren't injured.
