Oklahoma to try to join multistate lottery games

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma may soon be joining a large multistate lottery that pays out millions of dollars to winners.

The Oklahoma Lottery Commission yesterday authorized Director James Scroggins to apply to both of the multistate games -- Powerball and Mega Millions.

Scroggins says he hopes Oklahoma will be participating in one of those games shortly after the first of the year.
