A Tulsa man faces serious jail time, after a 10-year old girl says he sexually abused her for years. This case has shocked veteran investigators, because the girl and the suspect are related.
6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says US Marshals arrested 37-year old Glenn David Thomas, who also goes by the name Glenn Manchester, this week in Minneapolis. Tulsa Police say he left Oklahoma to go to work temporarily.
When he left, the 10-year old girl went to police and started telling her story. She told investigators the abuse started when she was just four years old. She says the suspect abused her in several states and in Tulsa. Court documents go into very disturbing details, even saying that a blindfold and video recorder where used during several of the acts.
After one incident, documents state Thomas threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone what he was doing. Investigators say they have now recovered hundreds of pictures of child pornography from Thomas' home.
Tulsa Police Child Crisis unit Sgt Whitney Allen: "The volume of the pornography, the age of the children in the pornography and just the sheer volume of abuse that happened to the victim here and just the nature of the abuse was just, it was very disturbing."
Tulsa Police say Thomas does have a prior criminal history, but nothing related to this type of crime. The District Attorney has ordered him extradited back to Tulsa to face charges for sexually abusing a minor. If convicted, he could get life in prison.
