OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An aircraft and crew from the Civil Air Patrol's Oklahoma Wing are providing some much-needed relief to air crews in Louisiana.

An aircraft and crew from Oklahoma are heading to Louisiana to help authorities survey the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. The Oklahoma crew will be working in the Lake Charles area with some of the patrol's newest digital imaging equipment.

The aerial photographs will be used by the emergency managers to direct relief efforts.

The satellite imaging equipment allows crews to send photographs from airborne aircraft directly to decision makers through e-mail.
