Rogers County Man Arrested In Shooting Death Of Wife

OOLOGAH, Okla. (AP) -- A Rogers County man is in custody in the death of his wife at their home near Oologah.

Deputies say they arrested Randy Scharmacher as they arrived at the home Wednesday night and found the body of Janice Scharmacher outside.

Authorities say Randy Scharmacher called a friend about 9:15 Wednesday night and asked him to help "dispose of a package."

When the friend arrived and found out the package was the body of the man's dead wife he left and called authorities.

Sheriff Jerry Prather says there is no obvious trauma to the dead woman's body and the cause of death is still under investigation.

Deputies say the couple had a history of domestic violence.
