Oklahoma City Murder Suspect Surrenders To Edmond Police

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) -- Edmond police broke into a mobile home early Thursday afternoon to end a nearly five-hour stand-off and arrest a man wanted in the shooting death of his estranged wife this morning in Oklahoma City.

Spokeswoman Glynda Chu says officers arrested Kevin Winchester in the living room of the home. Chu says Winchester was armed but no injuries are reported.

Winchester is wanted by Oklahoma City police in the shooting death of a woman found inside her car at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex shortly before 6:45 AM.

Oklahoma City Police Captain Jeff Becker says it appears the woman was leaving for work when she was shot through the driver side window.

Her car was running and backed across a sidewalk into an air conditioning unit before stopping.

Becker declined to release the victim's name but says she is white and about 50 years old.
