Flowers kicked off Oklahoma State basketball team

Updated:
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State basketball coach Sean Sutton dismisses freshman forward Gary Flowers from the Cowboys' team Friday for a violation of team rules.

A three-paragraph release from OSU didn't specify what Flowers' violation was, but the 6-foot-8 forward from Dallas has had at least two brushes with the law in recent weeks.

Sutton suspended the 20-year-old Flowers indefinitely on September 13th after OSU police arrested Flowers for possession of marijuana. Flowers was charged a day later.

According to Payne County court records, Flowers also was charged on September 29th with driving without a license for an offense authorities say occurred on September 18th.

Court records show Flowers has an October 16th hearing set in both misdemeanor cases.
