Samurai Sword Attack Victim Speaks

A Tulsa man is speaking out for the first time about a vicious attack with a samurai sword.

Travis Weeks arm was almost severed by the sword. He says he and his roommate, Louis Algeo, got into an argument last week. The men's girlfriends pulled them apart. That's when Sapulpa Police say Algeo went into another room and grabbed a samurai sword.

"I remember it coming straight down and I held out this arm and I pushed Vicki out of the way, if not it would have got my girlfriend."

Louis Algeo is in the Creek County jail. He goes to court next month to face several charges including assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, weeks says he feels lucky to be alive. Doctors transplanted a vein from his leg into his arm. He can't move it now, but he says he will in time.
