AOL Call Center In Oklahoma City To Close

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett says AOL will close its call center in Oklahoma City and leave 900 employees without a job.

Cornett says AOL is telling employees their last day will be January 29th but is also talking with other companies about taking over the lease and keeping some -- if not all -- the employees.

Cornett says the shut-down is apparently the result of AOL moving away from paid subscriptions to free access to its online content.
