Niedermayer, Lidstrom Lead NHL Voting

NEW YORK (AP) _ Defensemen Scott Niedermayer of Anaheim and Nicklas Lidstrom of Detroit lead the All-Star balloting in the Western Conference.

Niedermayer has 329,657 votes, roughly 12,000 more than Lidstrom, according to figures released by the NHL on Wednesday. Colorado forward Joe Sakic is third with 260,397.

He's followed by San Jose center Joe Thornton (245,083), Chicago Blackhawks winger Martin Havlat (183,953), and Dallas goalie Marty Turco (226,724).

Fans will choose six Eastern Conference all-stars and six Western Conference all-stars: three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender for each team through the NHL's Web site.
