NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma defensive tackle Carl Pendleton is one of five finalists for this year's John Wooden Citizenship Cup.
Pendleton is a junior who's giving up his senior season to pursue a graduate degree and take car of his 11-year-old brother. He recently won a national Football Foundation Post-Graduate Scholarship and has legal guardianship of his brother.
The other finalists are Kandia Batchelor of Florida State, Parker Dalton of Texas A&M, Anna Key of California and Eric LeRoux of Princeton.
The winner will be announced January 25th.
