Arkansas Man Wants Bible Course In Schools

Updated:
FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) _ A northwest Arkansas man wants some high schools in Arkansas and one in Oklahoma to offer a class on the Bible.

Logan Reed of Gentry says the course would focus on the literary and historical aspects of the Bible and wouldn't promote Christianity. He says students would become familiar with common references and stories in the Bible and he wouldn't mind if an atheist teaches it.

He's planning to ask the Kansas, Oklahoma, school district and schools in Decatur and Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to offer the course.
