UAB 62, Tulsa 57

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Lawrence Kinnard scores 17 points and keys a 12-to-3 second-half run with two 3-pointers and a put-back as Alabama-Birmingham outlasts cold-shooting Tulsa 62-to-57 Wednesday night.

The run turned a 38-to-36 deficit into a 48-to-41 lead for UAB with 7:33 left.

Tulsa, which shot just 37.9 percent, could not generate enough offense to get back in the basketball game.

Wen Mukubu scored 16 points and Maurice Gibbs added 12 for UAB.

The loss by Tulsa dampened the Golden Hurricane's flickering hopes for a possible National Invitation Tournament bid. TU is 16-and-10 overall and 6-and-7 in Conference USA play.

Darold Crow had 14 points for TU.

UAB is 14-and-13 overall and 6-and-7 in conference play.
