Memorial Planned For Slain Prison Employees

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The state Department of Corrections is establishing a foundation to develop a memorial to DOC employees killed in the line of duty.

Oklahoma state prisons director Justin Jones says 16 corrections employees have died in the line of duty.

Jones is creating the Oklahoma Correctional Employee Memorial Foundation made up of DOC employees. The foundation will develop the monument which is to be built at the Department of Corrections headquarters in Oklahoma City.

A dedication ceremony at the site is being planned for May.
