Tulsa's Street School Opens New Library

Students at Tulsa's Street School now have a place to do their research. The ribbon was cut on their new library on Tuesday. The new library offers students new books, computers and convenience they didn't have before when they had to be bused to nearby libraries.

"They're very excited,” Street School Executive Director Lori McGinnis said. “One of the teachers just mentioned that it's such a cut down on a loss of curriculum time. When they had to travel to the library you know it's 15 minutes to get in and out of the van and to get back, and that's instruction time that was lost."

Construction on the library took a year. It was built with grants from the Sarkeys and The Gelvin Foundations.
