Pension Hearing Delayed

Updated:
The hearing to determine if a former Creek Country judge gets his pension reinstated has been delayed indefinitely. The hearing in Oklahoma City was before an administrative law judge of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System and it was set to decide if Donald Thompson could receive his $93,000 a year state pension. The retirement system determined Donald Thompson forfeited the pension after he was convicted on four felony charges of indecent exposure.

The former judge was not able to attend Tuesday's hearing because he is currently serving his sentence at a state prison. The administrative law judge told Thompson's attorney they couldn't proceed without him present, so it has been delayed until he is able to attend.

State prison officials say Thompson will have to serve at least a year before his prison sentence comes up for review, when it could be reduced. When Thompson does get out of prison, he'll have to register as a sex offender.
