ATLANTA (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton missed out again in the voting for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Sutton retired last year with 798 career wins at OSU, Arkansas, Kentucky and Creighton to rank as the fifth-best for any men's NCAA Division I basketball coach. When his victories at Tulsa Central High School and the College of Southern Idaho are included he won exactly 1,000 games.

Those elected into the hall Monday are NBA coach Phil Jackson, North Carolina coach Roy Williams, the 1966 NCAA champion Texas Western team and four-time WNBA championship coach Van Chancellor.

Others to be inducted are former NBA referee Mendy Rudolph and international coaches Fedro Ferrandiz of Spain and Mirko Novosel of Yugoslavia.

Among the other notable finalists who did not receive the required 18 votes from 24 members of the honors committee are broadcaster Dick Vitale.
