More Money For State Prisons

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The state Senate approves a bill to provide $23 million to the state Department of Corrections.

The emergency funding comes after a bill earlier during the legislative session provided an additional $9.6 million to operate the state's prisons.

Corrections officials have requested an additional $47 million to pay for prison operations through the end of the current fiscal year.
