WEB EXTRA: Interview With Pedophile Website Creator Lindsay Ashford

Updated:
Lori Fullbright: Lindsay, can you tell me why you started the site?

Lindsay Ashford: There is a lot of disinformation about pedophiles and
pedophilia. Much of this is caused by incessant media distortions. I believe that I must speak the truth and raise awareness of the realities of my sexual orientation.

Lori Fullbright: What is your main message?

Lindsay Ashford: Pedophiles and child molesters are not necessarily the same and are often quite different. Pedophilia is a distinct, unchosen sexual orientation. Ostracizing and marginalizing pedophiles is not healthy for either the pedophiles or for society. Children are innately sexual beings and are capable of enjoying physical intimacy by themselves or with other persons.

Lori Fullbright: Who is your target audience?

Lindsay Ashford: Some sections are targeted primarily at pedophiles seeking support and information. Other sections are targeted at the general adult population. Sugar and Spice is intended for elementary school aged girls.

Lori Fullbright: How do you respond to people who say your site promotes child sexual abuse?

Lindsay Ashford: The site clearly discourages illegal activity and advocates using democratic means to promote debate and change legislation. It unequivocally denounces all sexual contacts obtained by force, coercion, manipulation or deception.

Lori Fullbright: What do you think about the online petition drive to have your site removed?

Lindsay Ashford: It is useless, but I am sure that its organizers will gain some moral satisfaction from it, even though it has taken them many months to gather a relatively small number of signatures. My site is fully legal under the laws of the Netherlands where it is physically hosted. There is therefore no reason for it to be shut down.

Lori Fullbright: Anything else you'd like to add?

Lindsay Ashford: I am ceaselessly amazed that society is so intent on shielding children from any discussion or exploration of sexuality, yet find it normal to allow their exposure to all manner of media violence and to be constantly bombarded by all manner of commercial advertising.

Dr. James Prescott, formerly of the National Institute of Child Health
and Human Development, found a direct correlation between levels of violence in society and lack of physical affection in childhood. Our society has unfortunately become anti-touch and pro-violence to the point that it is raising generation after generation of dysfunctional people. Only a revolution in its mentality can prevent the complete unraveling of a social fabric already under considerable strain.
