Services Planned For Oklahoman Killed In Virginia Tech Shootings

DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- Funeral services for a student from Oklahoma who was killed in the attack at Virginia Tech this week will be held in Oklahoma and Virginia. Twenty-year-old Lauren McCain was shot and killed Monday during a German class in the massacre that left 33 people dead, including the gunman.

Her uncle says services will be held on Sunday in Virginia then her body will be returned to Oklahoma for a service Wednesday afternoon at 1 at Aydelotte Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.

McCain was born in Midwest City and spent several years in McLoud before her father's Navy career took the family to Florida, Texas and then to Virginia.

She has several family members in Durant, Calera and Shawnee.
